I have travelled all over the world during my summer vacations, but I promised myself throughout my teaching career in Washington State that when I retired I would spend my first September in the New England states viewing the changing colors and all the historical places. This past September/October I did just that! I spent 3 weeks wandering to my heart's content through the beautiful foliage. In each of the 6 states I stayed with a different host for 2 to 4 days and had the best time exchanging travel stories and ideas for my daily excursions. I found fun and interesting places that aren't found in travel books and certainly not included in an organized tour. What a wonderful way to travel. I can't wait to go again!
